Tips for tuning
-It is very important to make sure your guitar is in tune EVERY time you practice. Otherwise things played correctly will sound wrong!
-Almost 100% of the time, the strings of the guitar are tuned to the following notes:
LOW-E STRING A D G B HIGH-E STRING
(Thickest string) (Thinnest string)
-Occasionally, there are songs in which the guitar is tuned differently, such as the Low-E tuned down to a "D" (which is called "drop-D").
Also, sometimes a guitar is tuned a "half step down"--- each string will sound exactly one half-step lower. Groups such as Nirvana, Van Halen, and Stevie Ray Vaughan have used this tuning method. This means your strings will be tuned on the following notes (b is the symbol for a "flat"): Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb
Most of time, you'll only need to use standard tuning. If you have any questions, contact me anytime. Good luck! -Steve
